BDO in the Czech Republic opens new legal firm

BDO in Czech Republic is pleased to announce that as of 1 August 2020, it will be launching its own legal practice.
Prague, 4 August 2020 – BDO in Czech Republic is pleased to announce that as of 1 August 2020, it will be launching its own legal practice. A dynamic team of experienced attorneys-at-law and lawyer trainees will focus mainly on corporate law for medium-sized companies. Their legal advisory is built on a wide scope - from business law, M&A, real estate and construction law, through tax law, labour law, and financing. Clients will be supported from two offices, in Prague and Brno.
"For several years now, we have an excellent professional cooperation with the leader of the new legal team, JUDr. Jiří Šmatlák. We support common clients, we have a profound understanding of each other’s areas of expertise, and we share the same values. Incorporating his legal practice under a common brand was a logical outcome from our continuous rethink on how to meet market needs,” says Miroslav Jandečka, BDO's managing partner.
The BDO Legal team will represent clients in court proceedings and will also be involved in insolvency and restructuring. "By integrating our team of experienced legal experts, our clients will now receive a complete service under one roof. The members of our legal team have many years of experience within prestigious law firms and will be available to clients for all their business needs," adds Jiří Šmatlák, who will manage the new legal practice.
The opening of the legal practice in the Czech Republic follows the recent announcement by the BDO Slovak colleagues who merged with the leading Slovak law firm NEXUS on 1 July 2020. This opens the door to a strong legal team for the entire Central European region.

The Prague office will be headed by Jiří Šmatlák, in Brno the legal services will be under the auspices of attorney-at-law Lukáš Regec.
